While you are out shopping for some new spring fashions, think about these top trends.
There was a clear fashion message coming from the Spring/Summer 2015 runways. It was interesting to see so many designers come together and build upon some universal trends. Here are my top eight trends spotted for Spring/Summer 2015.
We’ve moved on from minimalism!
An interesting trend has emerged from the Milan, London, New York and Paris fashion weeks. There seems to be a return to the more is more and bigger is best theory of accessorizing especially in regards to jewelry. There is lots of multiple layering and clustering going on in fashion this year. Manish Arora displayed a tribal theme with jeweled head dresses and neck collars. Vionnet exhibited a multiple layered necklaces vibe. Balenciaga went for covering the entire ear with studs, ear cuffs and dangles. While Givenchy went for the pierced ethnic look and jewelry for the whole head.
While lots of jewelry layering has been done in the past, there is something very fresh and new about all of these looks.
Fringe! It is everywhere! From bags to clothing to jewelry! I have lived long enough to have lived through the fringe phase before. I do love it though, I am glad to see it back. I had a brown miniskirt with fringe off of either hip that I gifted to a daughter that has long since been given away. Ah well.
I would suggest wearing one piece at a time, too much fringe can be a little overwhelming. Love the skirt and of course the jewelry, don’t you?
I am laughing out loud. I just watched the Chanel Fall/Winter RTW 2014 show. It was set in a stylized supermarket. The models are supposed to be ‘us’ and how we really dress in our day to day lives. Did you ever think you would see tennis shoes, trainers, sneakers, whatever you want to call them become so chic? I know they are EVERYWHERE. I guess the point is, they are not going away, we must embrace them.
Spring is in the air. Sigh. Sadly, not quite yet. Spring fashion on the other hand is everywhere. There are five key trends that are all over the fashion magazines and are showing up in the stores. Black and white, icy pastels, white, a hint of pink and metallics. Go forth and purchase, you have my permission.
First let me say that I was struggling with the right way to write this post. I kept hesitating. Why? Because when you go into business for yourself, over and over and over, branding people talk to you about your brand, about staying consistent with your message, about always presenting the right image for your brand. I do understand this and for the most part, I follow that advice, but I also believe that you have to stay true to yourself.
I have decided that it is the day to tackle a very important fashion question. Are you, have you ever been, do you hope to be, a wearer of the turtleneck? For the last week I have been ensconced in the fashion world (well, my little fashion world, a blog for another time) and it made me realize how each individual has very definite feelings about certain articles of clothing. The turtleneck is at the top of that list.
