As most of you know, I am a huge Irving Penn fan. Penn is a photographer who’s work with frozen vegetables says as much as one of his photograph’s with a fashion model. Penn (1917-2009) lived through extraordinary times for anyone but especially for a photographer. On October 23, “Irving Penn: Beyond Beauty,” the first full retrospective of his work in nearly two decades, will open at the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, D.C. This is by the way, my favorite museum in D.C. The exhibit runs through March 20, 2016. Can’t wait to see it!
