HAPPY 2014!!!!! Well, almost, we still have a couple of days to wring the life out of 2013. Here is what I say to the new year. I embrace you 2014 and hope that you are the year of my dreams, my knight in shining amour, the year I got into the best shape of my life, the love of my life…..blah, blah, blah. Hey, on January 1st we are all ALLOWED to feel hopeful.
December 31st is about letting go, closing the door on the past year while January 1st is always about opening the door to the fabulous future, the new year. It always looks so good on January 1st!
Personally, I am really looking forward to 2014. Let me just say that 2013 was not my favorite year by a long shot. There was the good, the bad, the sad and the ugly. As an adult this is when you say things like “it was a very challenging year” which I actually did say many, many times this year. I have tried to remain firmly focused on the good in life, on my many, many blessings and for the most part, I have succeeded. (Cue yoga chant …ummmmmm focus on the good, ummmmmmm focus on the good).
That bad boy 2013 is almost outta here, don’t let the door hit you on the way out!
Resolutions? Yes, I have a couple. First let’s hear from the next generation, our hope for the future with their new ideas and thought provoking insights. They are the bright minds of tomorrow.
Daughter #1’s resolution is not to contribute to her Mother’s blog. Well! I never.
Daughter #2’s resolution is to floss more. Love the energy, the drive, the deep meaning behind this resolution.
Daughter #3’s resolution is to “make a garden out of your life” (?) and “invest in good pieces of clothing”. Well, at least she tried and she gets points for creativity. You can see who is kissing up to Mom. Creativity is to be rewarded so… she is definitely in the WILL. Note to #1 and #2 you might want to start thinking about a really good Mother’s Day gift now.
So, here are my personal resolutions whether you want to know them or not.
1) Better work/life balance
2) Have more fun
3) See more of people I really like and care about
4) Get back to reading for pleasure
5) Take better care of myself…that started today by the way!
I wish you and your loved ones the BEST year ever! I hope 2014 exceeds your wildest expectations. Cherish life, it is so precious. HOPE springs eternal, all things are possible on January 1st.
See you in 2014!!!!!
P.S. What are your New Year’s resolutions? Let me know, won’t you?
