While you are out shopping for some new spring fashions, think about these top trends.
There was a clear fashion message coming from the Spring/Summer 2015 runways. It was interesting to see so many designers come together and build upon some universal trends. Here are my top eight trends spotted for Spring/Summer 2015.
Gingham Style – This is not your Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz gingham. This is a very sophisticated check pattern shown in all matter of size and color. All of the big girl/boy designers are showing it.

Kimono Rule – There are so many takes on the classic Japanese style of dressing. Kimono literally means “thing to wear”. The unstructured suit silhouette and relaxed, flowing dress were everywhere. The kimono jacket, dress and top with an obi tie are a staple. The look is both chic as well as comfortable.
Céline/Gucci/Marni Spring/Summer 2015.
Alexander Wang Spring/Summer 2015
In the Army Now – Keep your field jacket in the closet and get ready for inspection! There are lots of riffs on the classic military look making it a must have for summer. The look goes from casual to the working woman’s boardroom.

Victoria Beckham Spring/Summer 2015
Navy Blue is the New Black – Well yes, that statement would be a stretch as navy has been around now for a few seasons. However, in Spring 2015, it has become basic closet stock. It is being paired with black in everything from evening wear to coats, pants, tops and dresses. It has become a new neutral and a safe investment.
Michael Kors/Marc Jacobs/Chanel Spring/Summer 2015
Nonoo Spring/Summer 2015
Suede Parade – You might have well noticed that there is a serious ’70s vibe going on this season and no more so than with lots of leather. We are talking head-to-toe leather and lots of soft, soft, suede. There is nothing restrictive about this suede, it is meant to be comfortable and look lived in. The suede dress was on everyone’s runway. A favorite? Theory’s suede halter dress!

Invest in Vests – This is a look that is meant to be layered. It moves from a coat alternative to a stand alone top. All are worn long – at least to the mid thigh and can extend to the ankle. The idea is to pair the vest with different lengths, a cropped pant, a pair of shorts, you get the idea.
Reed Krakoff/Rag & Bone/Opening Ceremony Spring/Summer 2015
Tori Burch Spring/Summer 2015
White Now – Get it white now. You must have a white dress, a long white tunic, or an all white outfit. You already know this. Go blanca my friend, go blanca. This trend is HUGE.
Michael Kors Spring/Summer 2015
Erin Fetherston/Tibi/Elizabeth & James Spring/Summer 2015
Ralph Lauren Spring/Summer 2015
Be a Gladiator – It is time to get laced up. Channel your inner deity, say Aphrodite! Although versions of the gladiator sandal have been with us for a few years, they are making a huge statement this season. Tall or short, wear them with dresses, cropped pants or shorts.
