Remember the last few days before holidays in elementary school, the pre-vacation lull where no one wanted to do work? We all made turkey place mats, pilgrim hats and aprons while that weird kid Billy sat in the corner and ate glue and play doh. If you had a cool twenty-something teacher there might have even been music and dancing.
When my kids were in kindergarten, the big project (it took a couple of weeks) was creating a tactile turkey poster. Each child was supposed to bring items from home like macaroni, popcorn, rice, buttons, you get the idea, and then glue these items inside the magic marker outline of the turkey. I think we can all agree that the turkey was never complete without the googly eyes. Those kids worked so hard on those turkeys. They usually lasted about two days on the refrigerator. Anyway, those little turkeys sure did put me in the mood for Thanksgiving!
So, what are you thankful for? I’ll go first.
I am so thankful for my family. I hit the jackpot with the fam. I am so thankful for my health. I am so grateful for my wonderful friends. I am so thankful that we live in the United States and can say and think what we want, when we want. I am so grateful for mashed potatoes and gravy.
Now it is your turn.
Since my blog is essentially my refrigerator and the comment section is your construction paper, tell me everything you are thankful for this season.
Not to be corny or anything, but I am grateful for you dear reader!
